Speech and Language Therapy Fees
ASSESSMENT:
When you come for Speech and Language Therapy, we will conduct an initial assessment to examine your child’s speech and language therapy abilities and needs in detail. From our analysis of this, we develop a therapy plan including goals, targets, and best approaches.
Our assessment fees range from €250 to €400, depending on the age and needs of the child. Please note that we charge a non-refundable deposit of €100 when booking in an assessment session. This is deducted from the assessment fee charged on the day.
For some children, an informal play-based assessment is best, where we do an in-depth examination of speech, language and communication skills through fun activities. With this kind of assessment, we gather speech and language data, analyse it, and create an individual therapy programme for the child.
Other children require a more structured, or standardised, assessment with a formal scoring system. This kind of assessment allows us to examine child’s speech and language abilities on an individual basis, and also in comparison to their peers.
Our speech therapists will be able to tell you what kind of assessment is best for your child when you talk to them.
All our assessments include verbal feedback or a brief written summary.
Full written assessment report: €80
If you would like a full written report, this is charged at an additional €80. While you can request a written report at any point in your speech therapy journey, we strongly recommend that you do so at the time of assessment or as soon as possible afterwards, so that the information is as current as possible. A full written report is essential in some cases (e.g. school-aged children requiring access to resource hours), and optional in others. Our speech therapists will be able to tell you exactly what your child needs depending on the information you give them.
TREATMENT
Therapy sessions:
We offer a variety of therapy sessions (30 minutes, 45 minutes, 1 hour, school-based services, and online teletherapy). The best session type for your child will depend on the assessment findings and your own personal circumstances, so please talk to your clinician about the best therapy options for you or your child.
30 minutes: €70
45 minutes: €80
1 hour: €90
Advice sessions:
If direct therapy is not indicated for your child, we often provide an information or advice session for parents instead. These sessions allow you to explore the best ways to approach your child’s speech and language difficulties indirectly, by focussing on the communicative environment rather than the child. These sessions work particularly well for parents of ‘late talkers’, and parents of children who stammer, where indirect parental involvement is often the key to successful Speech and Language Therapy intervention.
30 minutes: €70
Home or school programmes
We can provide tailor-made packages for school or home use, to follow a therapy programme in the absence of direct speech therapy visits. This is particularly useful at times when clinic attendance may be restricted.
