Autistic Spectrum Disorders

Children with autism make up a large part of our caseload, probably because autism is such a vast and wide-ranging diagnosis. Sometimes our input is from before a diagnosis has even been reached, while sometimes it is many years later in the child’s journey. No matter what stage the child is at, we always work on the individual’s needs as our first point of focus, taking into account their individual language and communication level, and their personal, home and school environments. We have vast experience of how varied a child with autism’s needs can be, from pre-verbal intervention, to alternative or augmentative communication methods, to high functioning verbal output, to social skills needs.
