Pre-School Children

When we walk our children into pre-school or crèche on the first day, as parents we are usually just hoping that they have fun, make friends, and enjoy the activities. It can be hard to say goodbye (for them and us!), but there is an added worry for parents if the child has difficulties with speech and language, or with making themselves understood, or even with skills like attention and listening. These are all aspects of development that Speech and Language Therapists work with daily, liaising closely with parents and pre-schools to best prepare children for a more structured learning environment, and working on difficulties that can affect their enjoyment or participation. The earlier we hear about children with speech and language difficulties the better, so if you are worried about your child’s speech and language development now is the time to get started with us.
