Stammering

Stammering, or stuttering, can begin at any age and for a variety of reasons, including for no known reason at all. While we always advise parents to try not to make a big deal out of stammering when it happens, we know it is extremely worrying for them to see their child struggle to produce their words or sentences, especially when it upsets the child. Our therapists can tell you how to respond to stammering in the most helpful way, and work directly with your child on the stammer itself, to reduce or manage it in the best way possible. Stammering is a specific area of Speech and Language Therapy so not all of our team work with this client group, however we can provide online therapy or advice sessions if necessary.
